What is the coolest place you’ve been to? Was it in the colder weather or hotter weather? Was it at the beach or in the mountains? I have never gone overseas, but I have traveled to some cool places in the United States. I’m going to list off the states that I have visited. Ready, set, go… New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, New York, Connecticut, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Oregon.

Running has given me the opportunity to visit these places, and it is truly a blessing that the Lord has given me these opportunities. I want to highlight two of my favorite trips: Chicago (2018) and Oregon (2019). After we finished a meet, my team stayed overnight in Chicago. We spent the next day walking around the city and even got to go on an architecture tour on the Chicago River! I ate some good Mediterranean food and visited a cute coffee shop. My favorite part was walking along the Navy Pier at night.

Last year, my team and I traveled to Eugene, Oregon for a cross country meet. Eugene, Oregon is called Tracktown USA, since this is the location of the U.S. Championships and U.S. Olympic Trials. We ran well in the meet, and then afterward, we got to explore a little bit. We got to see Pre’s Trail and Pre’s Rock (Pre was a famous runner in the 1960s and 1970s). I ate at the one and only Tracktown pizza and enjoyed the Oregon mountains and evergreen trees on a hike.

As you can see from these pictures, it is a great idea to take lots of photos and even videos. If you are one who likes to travel, it is definitely a good idea to document your experiences and favorite places. This way, you will be able to have the memories for yourself and for others. You can share them on social media as well so people can get a sense of where you went.

One of my favorite parts of social media is vlogging, and I follow some travel vloggers on YouTube and Facebook. One of my favorite creators is Nas Daily. He travels to all sorts of faraway countries, but he opens my eyes to so many amazing places and cultures. You can do the same on your travels! Vlogging is easy and fun- just be yourself on camera! People appreciate authenticity. With vlogging, you can have something fun to look back on.
